Ice Storm Jan 2009
This is what a day and a half of 16 1/2 month old twins being locked in your house (due to an ice storm) will do..... heh, heh. Poor Louise.

Also, enjoy these cute pics! G&A were having fun being race cars. The others were dusk pics from the first ice storm of this winter. We haven't ventured outside with the twins yet as it didn't get above 19 degrees today.

Monumental Change in our midst...
Whatever your political view, it is absolutely amazing to be a part of American history today with the inauguration of President Obama. As a social worker, as a woman, as an Oklahoman, as one who interfaces daily with older Americans who never dreamed this would be possible in their lifetimes....it is absolutely remarkable for our diverse country to elect an American of African decent.
I was listening to NPR today and one woman who was interviewed made such a great comment. She was referring to her 7 year old biracial child who responded non-chalantly to his mother's tearful response to the new milestone for our country and said "he will never know any different than acceptance and inclusiveness". That is a good reminder to me that G&A will never know life without an emphasis on equality and may never know that diversity was not a normal way of life. Sure this is an elementary viewpoint...things are much more complex and we have a long way to go to reach true equality and justice, but it is nice to see that America is on its way.
May God bless America and give our new leaders the wisdom and courage to lead our country!

New Years in Colorado
We had a blast in Colorado to celebrate the new year!! We drove 12 hours through the night with partially awake babies to visit Robert, Renee, Reba Grace, Wally and Darrel (Renee's parents) for the first part of the trip. The second part was spent with Colleen, Drew, George and Madeline. Thanks to Elmo and Baby Einstein (and the Lanes for lending us their DVD player), we survived!
As you can see from the pics, RG, G&A picked up where they left off, though they are much busier now. We loved being out in the country at Wally and Darrel's and had beautiful weather, which allowed for our test-driving the Cobra and Matt's flight with Darrel to view elk. We feasted many times, but most especially with Crab Fest, our annual tradition. We had a great relaxing time shopping, hanging out, and laughing!
We spent time at the Denver Children's Museum --fabulous if you are ever in the Denver area--highly recommend it! We went from there to Coll & Drew's and loved loved loved being with them and spending time with M&G. We had a great evening and morning catching up with them and adoring those precious little ones! Also a bonus, got to see their new house which may be remodeled soon. Drew, we made purple pancakes this past Sat in your honor!!
It was wonderful to be with friends whom we consider as family! Love you all!!!

Welcome 2009!
I had great intentions of uploading the pics from Xmas, but it just did not happen. So here are two shots I took this weekend of my twin toddlers, yes, I am growing to accept that term. I will give the Christmas synopsis when I upload the pics...hopefully tomorrow.
