Let me back up our lives for a moment to retell recent exciting events. First of all, we enjoyed Grammy and Grandpa's visit prior to Spring Break. They came up to hang out and their timing couldn't have been better as Abigail had been sick earlier in the week, so they babysat while I made-up some work. Muchos gracias! And of course the twins LOVED it....
Grammy fixed Abigail's hair, isn't it beautiful?
Playing play-doh, their favorite!!
When they packed up to head back home, we loaded up to take the twins halfway to Houston to spend Spring Break with their cousins! Aunt Go-Go was a brave soul and wrangled 5 kids for 6 days....she is an amazingly strong and patient mother! G&A adored getting to spend nearly the entire time outside in shorts (it was still the tail end of winter and snowing in Oklahoma), going for wagon rides to the park and playing with their Houston cousins. "Aunt Go-Go" and "Unkie Tebin" survived and the kiddos thrived all week! My favorite comment was Kirby who responded "Bless you Aunt Carrie, those two are hard work!" Thanks for the validation Kirbs! BIG THANKS to the Houston crew for taking such great care of G&A!
While the babes were away, Matt and I had a romantic night away in Dallas, went to the most fabulous restaurant...if you're ever in Dallas, check out the Bishop Art District and
Eno's Pizzeria, and got to see Baby Brooklyn, Josh, and Jenn! We came home, worked our regular jobs and worked at night like crazy to switch the twin's room with the guest room and set up new beds for G&A. We felt like we were on TLC's Trading Spaces show (working until midnight every night!) but their room turned out pretty adorable. It was all worth it to see their excitement!
I must interject a few developmental topics for record keeping purposes....
Little G is 32 lbs, 37.5 inches tall, wearing 2T clothes and beginning to show interest in potty training. He is still all "boy" with his love of trucks, tools, balls (the kid has quite an arm, we may have a QB or baseball player in our future), playing in water, cooking, and playing music. He has his mama and daddy's sweet tooth as cupcakes are his fave! He has great affection for father-figures in his life and loves to be outside. He takes a while to warm up, but soon is all smiles and giggles. His laugh will fill an entire room with joy!
Miss A is 27 lbs, 34 inches tall, wears 18m-2T clothes and has potty training mastered (dry all night!). She is sassy, opinionated, and is affectionately called "The Activity Director". She will charm you with her smile and talk a mile a minute. She has great balance and physical ability (zooms on her trike and climbs everything with ease) and loves books, eating (that child can put away some food!), doing anything active, playing dress-up and Mommy, and shopping at Target!
We were overjoyed when they took to their new room so well....they never skipped a beat with sleeping! They love their new beds and love having more toys in their room. Miss A's fave part is being able to reach her own clothes in her new closet. Mr. G loves bouncing on his new bed! I think they both love being able to see each other better and talk....melts your heart when you hear over the monitor, "Good-nite Georgie. Go sleep!"
We had an amazing Easter this year. Our two are really starting to learn about the love of Jesus and how much we are blessed by Him. Nana and Pop came up to spend Easter with us and we enjoyed McFarlin's Easter Egg Hunt and Festival on Saturday.
G wasn't too sure about this whole hunting eggs thing....
...but when he saw they were filled with candy, he changed his mind!
Miss A dove right in and started stockpiling eggs!
They brought their pails of eggs and dumped them in their Nana's purse to go back for more!
The inside toddler play area was awesome! G loved "planting" plants while A loved the bounce house (look in the background of the pic).
Precious times...we can't get them to easily brush their teeth but when their Pop comes to town...they suddenly love it!
We spent the morning at church and after Sunday School, our breaths were taken away by the beauty and awe of the Easter Lily cross at the altar. Once again, we remember the ultimate sacrifice and grace given by God and we appreciate the blessing of our recommitment to Him.
The flowers were in beautiful form at OU. May we rejoice in the love of Christ!
