We were honored that "Ms. Texas Amy" and "Mr. Lellow Pants" (aka Drew) came to visit us in late July. It was challenging to find things to do with the excessive heat but we decided to go on a really, really hot (over 100 degree) hike at the Wichita Mountains and lunch at Meer's Hamburger Joint. Mostly, we hung out, swam, and played inside due to the high temperatures. Nonetheless, we loved getting to spend time with two of our favorite people!!

G&A's new wheels at Nana & Pop's...practicing their driving skills! Big fun for this summer.
Our annual Sand Creek Ranch trip fell on the first week of August this year. Normally, it is much hotter in west Texas, but not this year... We actually felt a break in the heat! George, Abigail, and I rode out to Lubbock early with Nana and Pop and Matt came for the weekend. The kiddos loved the Science Spectrum (great hands-on science museum if you're ever in Lubbock) and having a "duck party" (feeding the ducks) at Aunt Sherry & Uncle Doug's.

Another first..they slept in the living room on blow-up beds with their big cousins...first time they have slept in another room while on a trip with Mommy & Daddy! They said the ATVs and sleeping with the big kids were the highlights of their Ranch trip.

At the ranch, George and Abigail got to ride the "big kid toys" for the first time ever. They rode on the motorcycles and four-wheelers and LOVED IT!!! We swam in the pool, went for mule rides around the ranch and down in the canyon, and shot BB guns. George hit the targets just like the grown-ups!

Aunt Sherry surprised George and Abigail with a early 4th birthday party so we could celebrate as a big Martin family. They were so surprised and loved their Princess and Curious George cake. They played with their new toys all weekend and stayed up late to watch the stars.
Even Fagen celebrated the twins' bdays!
