Mardi Gras Shreveport Style

The twins and I made a trek down to the River Cities to catch the Krewe of Gemini parade. Matt had to stay home with a terrible cold, but G&A had a blast at Nana and Pop's house and enjoyed time with their grandparents and "Unca Bad." Abigail liked the parade; her favorites were the police horses and the necklaces. Not such a fan, George spent the whole parade in Pop's arms with his ears covered...he did say he liked the "maaaker tucks" (monster trucks). Both did not like the music: "it too loud!" They loved getting to fill their bags with beads and stuffed toys. Here are a few memories from the parade.

I love this view of the flags with the Shreveport skyline on Clyde Fant Pkwy.
G&A loved seeing the big firetrucks up close!
Big thanks to Smitty & Diane for the tailgating and RV...can't beat smoked chicken and personal potties!!

Not-so-happy little camper...
Love this shot...priceless.
Throw Me Somethin' Mister!! Give the baby some beads!!

This was G's official parade stance...hands over the ears with his Pop.

Look close in the window...G's on the left and A's on the right. This was G&A's favorite spectator spot. They spent the last half of the parade in Smitty's RV.
Happy Mardi Gras!!! No more sweets for Lent...I'm hoping the 40 days pass quickly!
